Trevor has a broad experience base in professional engineering and business and has recently retired after a decade as Managing Director of Naylor Love Ltd, a major national construction company. He is currently an Otago regional councillor and is a construction industry consultant specialising in performance measurement and management, leadership and business strategy.
A trustee of Choirs Aotearoa New Zealand since 2004 and vice chair since 2008, Trevor’s initial interest in ‘Choirs’ was triggered by his daughter Jenny’s membership of the New Zealand Youth Choir. He did, however, have prior national performing arts governance experience with the New Zealand Brass Bands Association. He is a member of the St Kilda Brass Band and has held a number of regional and national Brass solo titles.
Music runs in the family. Jenny is currently a freelance opera stage manager in the UK and his son David is a freelance musician based in Wellington. Trevor and his wife Carol, an active choral musician, reside in Dunedin.
